I carve every piece of glass freehand. I like to deeply consider each piece to carve out their imagined anatomy and bring the innards to the surface.

About the Artist

Adrienne Di Salvo (b. 1988, Carmel, NY) is a glass coldworker who gained wide acclaim for her low relief cameo carvings on collaborative works within pipe culture. She started her career as a goldsmith while still pursuing her passion for glass. Applying much of her skills as a metalsmith, Adrienne soon found coldworking glass to be her calling. Combining her whimsical humor with her love for anatomy, Adrienne has been a major part of the contemporary scene of artists bringing a new age style to an age old technique.

“The texture of the carved glass is so fascinating and sculptural. You can tell how unique each piece is and that makes every item she makes even more special.”

Babedrienne’s Bones

"Babedrienne's Bones" showcased the collaborative carved cameo work of “Babedrienne” a.k.a. Adrienne DiSalvo at Stoked Glass Gallery in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Friends and accomplished artists created functional glass sculptures with Adrienne’s glass carve prep. Once those pieces cooled down to room temperature in a kiln, Adrienne carved them using diamond bits and a rotary tool. Her carvings reveal the inner anatomy of some of your favorite pipe maker's creations. Kurt B, Coyle, Chadd Lacy, & Nerv to name a few.
